The Opportunity:
A 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant is needed to support a student with special educational needs in a mainstream setting. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact on a student's learning and development while gaining valuable experience in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the assigned student in mainstream lessons and deliver 1:1 interventions.
- Assist in managing and supervising behaviour in a safe and inclusive environment.
- Foster social interaction and communication skills among students.
- Help teachers with lesson preparation and activity planning for the student.
- Promote the student's independence and overall well-being.
- Work closely with the Inclusion department and other staff to ensure consistent support.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual learning plans.
- Maintain accurate records of the student's progress and interventions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to support and manage student behaviour effectively.
- Commitment to inclusion and student welfare.
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- Experience in delivering 1:1 interventions.
- Knowledge of Speech & Language development.
- Experience in working within a school setting.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on Scale 5, Points 11-15, pro-rata.
