The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring A Level English Teacher to join our dedicated team and make a meaningful impact on students' academic and personal growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality A Level English lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support student achievement and progression.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
  • Contribute to the wider college community through pastoral support, extra-curricular activities, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Support students in preparing for exams and higher education applications.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with college procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in teaching A Level English to 16-19 year olds.
  • Demonstrable record of achieving outstanding student results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to raising student aspirations and supporting the wider college community.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching both 11-16 and 16-19 age groups.
  • Experience with initial teacher training or ECTs.
  • Familiarity with Applied General qualifications and GCSEs in English.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
