Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality A Level English lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support student achievement and progression.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
- Contribute to the wider college community through pastoral support, extra-curricular activities, and professional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
- Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
- Support students in preparing for exams and higher education applications.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with college procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
- Proven experience in teaching A Level English to 16-19 year olds.
- Demonstrable record of achieving outstanding student results.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to raising student aspirations and supporting the wider college community.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching both 11-16 and 16-19 age groups.
- Experience with initial teacher training or ECTs.
- Familiarity with Applied General qualifications and GCSEs in English.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
