The Opportunity:

As an A-Level Further Maths Teacher, you will deliver one-to-one lessons to students with special educational needs, helping them achieve academic success through individualised and flexible teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individualised Maths lessons tailored to each student's learning needs and academic level.
  • Teach a range of A-Level Further Maths topics, ensuring alignment with curriculum requirements.
  • Adapt teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and support teams.
  • Collaborate with pastoral teams to ensure holistic student support and engagement.
  • Maintain detailed records of lessons and student progress in accordance with educational standards.
  • Promote mathematical understanding, motivation, and confidence in students through engaging teaching practices.
  • Work flexibly across various locations, including students' homes and other learning environments.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent experience in teaching Maths.
  • Experience teaching A-Level or equivalent Maths qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum and related topics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for one-to-one teaching.
  • Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes and other learning environments.
  • Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.

Preferred

  • Experience with Edexcel Functional Skills Maths or AQA Spec A-Level Further Maths.
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
