The Opportunity:
As an A-Level History with Politics Tutor, you will deliver engaging and tailored lessons to students who require one-to-one support. This role allows you to make a meaningful impact by helping students develop a deep understanding of history and politics, while working in a flexible and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualised History and Politics lessons tailored to each student's learning needs and academic level.
- Teach a range of A-Level and equivalent topics in History and Politics.
- Promote student engagement and motivation through creative and accessible teaching methods.
- Adapt lesson content and teaching approaches to meet the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and support teams.
- Collaborate with pastoral staff to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Maintain detailed records of lessons and student progress in accordance with educational standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching History.
- Experience teaching A-Level or equivalent History and Politics topics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students in a one-to-one setting.
- Ability to work flexibly in various locations, including students' homes.
Preferred
- Experience working with students who have special educational needs and disabilities.
- Excellent knowledge of the history and politics curriculum.
- Experience in SEND-specific teaching methods.
