Summary:

A-Level Religious Studies Teacher needed to deliver individualised lessons to students with diverse needs.

The Opportunity:

As an A-Level Religious Studies Teacher, you will have the opportunity to deliver one-to-one lessons to students who are unable to attend mainstream school. Your role will involve creating engaging and accessible lessons that support students in achieving academic success and developing a deep understanding of Religious Studies at A-Level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individualised Religious Studies lessons aligned with the student's academic level and learning objectives.
  • Teach a range of A-Level Religious Studies topics, including those on the AQA and Eduqas specifications.
  • Adapt teaching methods to support students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
  • Support students in developing exam preparation and essay writing skills.
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral teams to ensure holistic student support.
  • Maintain detailed records of lessons and student progress in line with educational standards.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive learning experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Religious Studies.
  • Experience teaching A-Level Religious Studies on the AQA or Eduqas specification.
  • Strong knowledge of the Religious Studies curriculum and related topics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly in various locations, including students’ homes.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Background in SEND-specific training or professional development.
  • Commitment to providing individualised and holistic support for students.
