The Opportunity:
We are seeking an ABA-qualified tutor with experience working with students with severe SEN to join our team in Teddington. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students while working with a respected and award-winning organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-to-one ABA-based tuition to students with special educational needs
- Apply the Bright Heart Approach to build trust, self-esteem, and academic progress
- Develop and implement individual learning plans tailored to student needs
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and education professionals
- Attend ongoing training and support sessions to enhance teaching practices
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and session notes
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies
- Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- ABA qualification and relevant teaching or tutoring experience
- At least 12 months of experience in tutoring or teaching in the UK
- Strong subject knowledge in the relevant subject area
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate with children’s barred list check
- Two professional references and a parent reference
Preferred
- Experience working with students with severe special educational needs
- Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred methodologies
- Previous experience in special needs education or teaching
- Familiarity with study techniques and lifelong skills development
