As an Academic Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:
- Support students across Key Stage 3 and 4 to overcome barriers to learning and achieve academic success.
- Develop and implement individualised strategies to improve attendance, punctuality, and behaviour.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to create a strong, unified approach to student progress.
- Provide targeted academic and pastoral support to build confidence and resilience in students.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting support as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
- Deliver focused interventions and enrichment activities to enhance learning outcomes.
- Work closely with the school’s leadership team to align support with the school’s values and objectives.
- Contribute to the development of departmental initiatives and strategies for student success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Commitment to the values of equality, integrity, and ambition.
- Experience in providing academic or pastoral support to students.
Preferred
- Experience in mentoring or tutoring students with additional needs.
- Knowledge of curriculum requirements and assessment practices.
- Experience working within a school trust or collaborative educational environment.
- Experience in delivering targeted interventions to support student achievement.
