The Opportunity:
As an Academic Staff member in our Summer School, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and inspiring lessons to students aged 8-16 from diverse backgrounds. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, student-centred lessons in your specialist subject area.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and develop innovative and engaging course content.
- Support students through regular progress reports and meaningful feedback.
- Participate in a range of educational and recreational activities, including excursions and field trips.
- Contribute to the overall ethos and success of the Summer School experience.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Engage with students in a supportive and encouraging manner.
- Use up-to-date resources and teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver lessons effectively.
- Experience working with children aged 8-16.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to inclusive and character-based education.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching within a summer school or international setting.
- Familiarity with outdoor education or experiential learning.
- Experience in Computing or Science teaching.
- Leadership experience, particularly in a departmental role.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
