The Opportunity:

As Acting Deputy Head of Mathematics TLR 2.2, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing the Mathematics department. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a school renowned for its academic excellence and innovative teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Support the development and implementation of the school’s innovative and problem-solving focused mathematics curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all students achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to the school’s extensive enrichment programme, offering students additional learning opportunities.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to shape the strategic direction of the Mathematics department.
  • Ensure the effective use of resources and time, including PPA and keeping well time.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching A-level and GCSE Mathematics.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school or departmental setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and commitment to developing innovative teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role within a Mathematics department.
  • Experience with curriculum development and mastery-based teaching approaches.
  • Familiarity with the school’s enrichment programme and pastoral care systems.
  • Experience in working with diverse student populations.
