The Opportunity:
As Acting Deputy Head of Mathematics TLR 2.2, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing the Mathematics department. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a school renowned for its academic excellence and innovative teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Support the development and implementation of the school’s innovative and problem-solving focused mathematics curriculum.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all students achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to the school’s extensive enrichment programme, offering students additional learning opportunities.
- Work closely with senior leadership to shape the strategic direction of the Mathematics department.
- Ensure the effective use of resources and time, including PPA and keeping well time.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching A-level and GCSE Mathematics.
- Proven leadership experience within a school or departmental setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and commitment to developing innovative teaching methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role within a Mathematics department.
- Experience with curriculum development and mastery-based teaching approaches.
- Familiarity with the school’s enrichment programme and pastoral care systems.
- Experience in working with diverse student populations.
