The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Administration Assistant to be the first point of contact for visitors and callers. This role is essential in maintaining a welcoming environment and ensuring the smooth operation of front-of-house duties. The ideal candidate will support the administration team with a variety of tasks while upholding the school’s values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage reception and telephone duties, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience for all visitors and callers.
  • Maintain a tidy and inviting reception area, including managing meeting room bookings and handling deliveries.
  • Support the wider administration team with diary management, document preparation, and general administrative tasks such as filing and typing.
  • Ensure all safeguarding and security procedures are followed at all times.
  • Assist with the management of post and other office-related duties.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and reliable approach to supporting the team with varied and rewarding tasks.
  • Use IT systems effectively, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all interactions and tasks.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly and professional manner.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills, ideally supported by 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including English and Maths.
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, demonstrating reliability and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Preferred

  • Experience with administrative systems and databases.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and security procedures.
