The Opportunity:
As an Admissions Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the admissions process and ensuring a positive experience for prospective families. This is an outward-facing role that requires empathy, discretion, and a strong commitment to the school’s values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional support to the Head of Admissions.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of school tours, open mornings, and visits.
- Engage confidently with visitors and communicate the school’s ethos and strengths.
- Support administrative tasks including data entry, correspondence, and managing the admissions inbox.
- Handle inquiries with sensitivity, particularly for families with additional needs or concerns.
- Ensure a positive and personalised admissions experience for all families.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Confident IT user with proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems.
- Calm and empathetic approach, especially when dealing with anxious families.
- Team player with a flexible and can-do attitude.
Preferred
- Experience in an educational or admissions setting.
- Awareness and understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Previous experience in providing administrative support.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Term-time only contract with 32 academic weeks plus 2 weeks.
