The Opportunity:

As Alumni Engagement Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting bursary fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives. This is a varied and impactful role that offers hands-on experience in communications, events, and database administration. You will contribute to a school’s mission of advancing educational opportunity and social mobility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support fundraising efforts and bursary initiatives to advance educational opportunity.
  • Manage communications and engagement strategies with alumni and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate events and activities as part of the alumni and development programme.
  • Maintain and update databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate with the Development and Alumni Engagement team to deliver high-quality initiatives.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and alumni.
  • Assist in the smooth running of day-to-day operations under the guidance of the Development Manager.
  • Contribute to the delivery of major fundraising and stewardship projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to make a difference in the lives of children and young people.
  • Experience in a similar role or willingness to learn and develop within a supportive environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in fundraising, alumni engagement, or events management.
  • Knowledge of database management systems.
  • Experience with educational institutions or charitable organisations.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours as part of the engagement and events programme.
