The Opportunity:

As an AP Math Teacher, you will play a vital role in preparing students for advanced mathematics exams while fostering a deep understanding of calculus and problem-solving. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that promote critical thinking and problem-solving in a standards-based learning environment.
  • Plan, implement, and assess an advanced mathematics curriculum aligned with AP standards.
  • Provide timely, relevant feedback through formative and summative assessments to support student growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the mathematics department to align curriculum, share resources, and develop common assessments.
  • Foster a caring, inclusive learning environment that supports student social-emotional development and academic success.
  • Contribute to a positive school climate by participating in school-wide initiatives and community-building activities.
  • Serve as an advisor and participate in the advisory program, supporting student development beyond the classroom.
  • Participate in ongoing professional learning and development to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject with required certifications
  • Minimum of two years of successful AP or IB math experience in an accredited school setting
  • Experience in classroom instruction and common assessments
  • Ability to obtain a work visa in Korea (including successful completion of a drug screening process)

Preferred

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Two years of overseas teaching experience
  • Training and experience in working with second language learners
  • Experience facilitating advisory sessions, grade-level teams, and afterschool activities
  • Experience in designing and facilitating independent study opportunities for students
  • Active contribution to the school community beyond the classroom
