The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Art and Design Teacher to join a supportive and collaborative department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and develop students’ artistic abilities across Key Stages 4 and 5. The successful candidate will contribute to a vibrant and creative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Art and Design to students across Key Stages 4 and 5, including Photography and Textiles.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and technical skill.
  • Support the development of students’ artistic talents through individual and group projects.
  • Contribute to co-curricular activities and extracurricular programs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the department’s teaching standards.
  • Provide pastoral support through form tutoring and student mentoring.
  • Maintain and manage specialist facilities, including Art studios, Photography studios, and Design Technology workshops.
  • Participate in the planning and assessment of student work.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Art, Design, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Art and Design at Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and personal development.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Photography or Textiles.
  • Familiarity with Design Technology and its applications.
  • Experience with A Level teaching and curriculum development.
  • Involvement in co-curricular or extracurricular activities.
  • Background in pastoral care or form tutoring.
