Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Art and Design lessons that are engaging, creative, and aligned with curriculum standards.
- Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore their artistic potential through innovative teaching methods.
- Set high expectations and model positive attitudes, values, and behaviours in the classroom.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Art and Design curriculum.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through individualised feedback and encouragement.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and events that promote the arts within the school and wider community.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
- Stay up to date with developments in Art and Design education and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Art and Design or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching Art and Design at the secondary level.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to create engaging and creative lesson plans that meet curriculum requirements.
- Commitment to student welfare and the promotion of a positive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering art-based extracurricular activities or clubs.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or working with diverse student populations.
- Familiarity with digital tools and software used in Art and Design education.
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
