The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Art and Design Teacher to join our Secondary School team. This role plays a vital part in shaping students’ creative and artistic development, while contributing to a vibrant and supportive school community. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality education and fostering student growth both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Art and Design lessons in line with the English National Curriculum and Cambridge IGCSE and A Level syllabi.
  • Develop and implement engaging, student-centered learning experiences that promote creativity and critical thinking.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support students in their personal and academic growth.
  • Act as a pastoral tutor, contributing to the well-being and development of students.
  • Participate actively in the school’s extracurricular program, including clubs, events, and competitions.
  • Support the House system by contributing to events and fostering a sense of community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain and improve teaching standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recognised teaching qualifications.
  • Proven experience teaching Art and Design at the Secondary level.
  • Familiarity with the English National Curriculum and Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Art & Design.
  • Strong understanding of personalised learning, feedback, and assessment.
  • Commitment to student well-being and holistic development.

Preferred

  • Experience in a pastoral role or working with students as a tutor.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities or leadership roles.
  • Experience with the House system or community engagement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a collaborative and innovative teaching team.
