The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Art and Design Teacher to join our Secondary School team. This role plays a vital part in shaping students’ creative and artistic development, while contributing to a vibrant and supportive school community. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality education and fostering student growth both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Art and Design lessons in line with the English National Curriculum and Cambridge IGCSE and A Level syllabi.
- Develop and implement engaging, student-centered learning experiences that promote creativity and critical thinking.
- Provide constructive feedback and support students in their personal and academic growth.
- Act as a pastoral tutor, contributing to the well-being and development of students.
- Participate actively in the school’s extracurricular program, including clubs, events, and competitions.
- Support the House system by contributing to events and fostering a sense of community.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain and improve teaching standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Recognised teaching qualifications.
- Proven experience teaching Art and Design at the Secondary level.
- Familiarity with the English National Curriculum and Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Art & Design.
- Strong understanding of personalised learning, feedback, and assessment.
- Commitment to student well-being and holistic development.
Preferred
- Experience in a pastoral role or working with students as a tutor.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities or leadership roles.
- Experience with the House system or community engagement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a collaborative and innovative teaching team.
