Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Art & Design lessons that foster creativity and artistic exploration among pupils.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that raise attainment and engage students.
  • Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme by organising and participating in art exhibitions and showcases.
  • Provide constructive feedback to pupils, supporting their confidence and passion for art.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the learning experience for all students.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline in the classroom.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Art & Design education and integrate new techniques and technologies into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching Art & Design, with a track record of raising attainment.
  • Ability to teach a range of art disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
  • Strong communication skills and a clear sense of moral purpose.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Background in photography and digital art.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Previous involvement in school exhibitions or showcases.
  • Familiarity with research-based teaching methods and professional development.
