The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Art & Design lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum, IGCSE, and IB Visual Arts.
  • Foster a creative, inclusive, and challenging learning environment that promotes student confidence and artistic growth.
  • Manage and maintain specialist studios, makerspace, and technology including iPads, laser cutters, and printing presses.
  • Support students in developing risk-taking, creativity, and future-ready skills through meaningful learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to lead the STEAM programme and contribute to the school’s vibrant art culture.
  • Organise and lead exhibitions, art publications, and creative clubs to celebrate student work and promote the department.
  • Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students in all aspects of teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Art & Design.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, creative lessons aligned with international curricula.
  • Strong understanding of student-centered, inquiry-based teaching methods.
  • Commitment to student well-being and safeguarding.
  • Experience in using technology to enhance learning and creativity.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in an international school setting, particularly with the IB programme.
  • Background in STEAM education and cross-curricular collaboration.
  • Leadership experience in art or creative subjects.
  • Experience in exhibition planning, art publication, or creative club leadership.
