The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across 16-18 and 19+ Art and Design programmes.
  • Support students in developing practical skills and confidence in their subject area.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of curriculum content and learning materials.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assessment to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the Art and Design faculty.
  • Engage in professional development and training opportunities to maintain and enhance teaching expertise.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher status or equivalent, or relevant experience in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in teaching Art and Design at Further Education level.
  • Strong knowledge of 2D, 3D, Digital, Fine Art, Graphics, Sculpture, Ceramics, Print, Textiles, and Mixed Media.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for creative education.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching across a range of levels, from Entry to Level 4 and HE.
  • Background in a similar subject area or department.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary ranging from £17.48 to £21.86 per hour, with a 40% top-up on all teaching hours.
