The Opportunity:
As an Art Teacher, you will deliver inspiring and innovative art education across multiple key stages, including IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme. You will play a key role in shaping the school’s creative culture and supporting students in developing their artistic skills and personal expression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated art lessons for KS2, KS3, IGCSE, and IBDP students.
- Use assessment data to track student progress and tailor teaching strategies to ensure outstanding outcomes.
- Create a dynamic and inspiring learning environment that encourages creative exploration and technical skill development.
- Nurture each student’s artistic voice and support the production of high-quality portfolios for IGCSE and IBDP.
- Collaborate with the Visual Arts team to deliver interdisciplinary projects, exhibitions, and co-curricular activities.
- Contribute to the school’s cultural life by curating student artwork displays and leading art clubs.
- Support the school’s wellbeing ethos by fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Act as a positive ambassador for the arts within the school and broader community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd, or equivalent).
- Strong academic background in Art, Fine Art, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience teaching Art across multiple key stages, including IGCSE and/or IBDP.
- A passion for fostering creativity and supporting student development.
- Current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure for all countries lived in.
- Compliance with visa requirements for working in China.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
Preferred
- Experience with IGCSE and IBDP English.
- Experience working in an international school setting.
- Familiarity with cross-disciplinary arts projects and collaboration with Music, Drama, and Film departments.
