The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate Art lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum and school standards.
- Foster students’ creativity, self-expression, and appreciation for diverse artistic techniques and cultural art forms.
- Identify and nurture talent in students who show a special interest in Art.
- Develop and implement an engaging Art curriculum that integrates practical skills, art history, critical thinking, and cross-curricular links.
- Use varied teaching methods and materials to cater to different learning styles and abilities, ensuring inclusive classroom practice.
- Encourage the use of contemporary and traditional media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media.
- Assess and monitor student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
- Organize and support art exhibitions, competitions, and extracurricular activities that enrich the school’s creative culture.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to create interdisciplinary projects and promote the arts within the wider school community.
- Maintain a supportive and inspiring classroom environment that promotes student well-being and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about students’ progress and achievements in Art.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching Art to students across Key Stage 1, 2, and 3.
- Strong subject knowledge in both practical and theoretical aspects of Art.
- Skilled in differentiated instruction and classroom management.
- Familiarity with the English National Curriculum and international school settings.
- Proficient with traditional and digital art tools and technologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Committed to fostering creativity, innovation, and a lifelong love of the arts in young learners.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Background in child safeguarding or related areas.
