The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Art Teacher to join our dynamic Junior School team. The role involves teaching students from Reception to Year 6, with a focus on nurturing creativity and artistic talent in young learners. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ education and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Art to students from Reception through to Year 6, delivering engaging and inspiring lessons.
  • Support the development of students’ creative skills and confidence in artistic expression.
  • Act as a form tutor for Year 5 or Year 6 students, fostering positive relationships and pastoral care.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school, including lunchtime, evening, and weekend events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the Art curriculum and student experience.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to departmental planning and projects.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in Art education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities related to the Creative Arts.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Art to children aged 4-12.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality education and fostering a love of learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities as required.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching at KS1 and KS2 levels.
  • Familiarity with the IB and IGCSE curricula.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to co-curricular activities.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing creative and engaging Art lessons.
  • Experience with form tutoring or pastoral care.
