The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Art Teacher to cover maternity leave for a fixed-term position starting in April 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development within a dynamic and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring art lessons tailored to the needs of students across a range of abilities.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skill.
- Prepare and manage teaching resources, lesson plans, and assessment materials.
- Monitor and support student progress, ensuring that all learners achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the school.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and pastoral care initiatives.
- Support students with special educational needs and ensure inclusive practices are embedded in teaching.
- Maintain accurate records of student work, assessments, and progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated commitment to child safeguarding and welfare.
- Evidence of continuous professional development and a strong understanding of teaching standards.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching art at the secondary level.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and SEN support.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
