The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Art Teacher to cover maternity leave for a fixed-term position starting in April 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development within a dynamic and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring art lessons tailored to the needs of students across a range of abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skill.
  • Prepare and manage teaching resources, lesson plans, and assessment materials.
  • Monitor and support student progress, ensuring that all learners achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the school.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and pastoral care initiatives.
  • Support students with special educational needs and ensure inclusive practices are embedded in teaching.
  • Maintain accurate records of student work, assessments, and progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated commitment to child safeguarding and welfare.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and a strong understanding of teaching standards.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching art at the secondary level.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and SEN support.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
