The Opportunity:

As an Arts and Design Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Performing Arts, Art, and Design & Technology Departments. Your work will ensure that students and staff have the resources and environment needed to deliver high-quality, practical lessons. This is a dynamic and impactful role that contributes directly to student learning and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for Performing Arts, Art, and Design & Technology lessons.
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic, and well-organized working environment.
  • Oversee student activities under the instruction of teaching staff.
  • Manage resources, materials, and equipment effectively.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of teaching spaces and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with department staff to support curriculum delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Support extracurricular and enrichment activities where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a technical support role within an educational setting.
  • Ability to manage resources and maintain equipment to a high standard.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to health and safety and the welfare of students.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some out-of-hours work.

Preferred

  • Experience in Performing Arts, Art, or Design & Technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with using and maintaining a range of technical equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
