The Opportunity:
As an Arts and Design Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Performing Arts, Art, and Design & Technology Departments. Your work will ensure that students and staff have the resources and environment needed to deliver high-quality, practical lessons. This is a dynamic and impactful role that contributes directly to student learning and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for Performing Arts, Art, and Design & Technology lessons.
- Maintain a safe, hygienic, and well-organized working environment.
- Oversee student activities under the instruction of teaching staff.
- Manage resources, materials, and equipment effectively.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of teaching spaces and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with department staff to support curriculum delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Support extracurricular and enrichment activities where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a technical support role within an educational setting.
- Ability to manage resources and maintain equipment to a high standard.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Commitment to health and safety and the welfare of students.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some out-of-hours work.
Preferred
- Experience in Performing Arts, Art, or Design & Technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with using and maintaining a range of technical equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
