Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans tailored to the needs of students with ASD.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote academic progress and social development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to support student wellbeing and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and independence.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school’s commitment to staff growth.
  • Support students in both academic and pastoral areas, ensuring a holistic approach to education.
  • Engage in extra-curricular activities and school events that enhance the student experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in working with students with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Strong understanding of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and differentiated instruction strategies.
  • Experience with behaviour management in a special needs setting.
  • Experience working within a school that values inclusion and extra-curricular engagement.
