The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Caretaker to support the school’s operations and contribute to a positive learning environment. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the school’s high standards and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor the school building and its facilities to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Assist with general maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and equipment checks
  • Support the caretaking team with daily duties such as opening and closing the school
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and visitors to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed at all times
  • Assist in the management of school events and activities
  • Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel
  • Support the delivery of a welcoming and inclusive school environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to use relevant software
  • Ability to work confidently with students and staff
  • Experience in a caretaking or similar role
  • Commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Flexibility to work during school holidays and term time
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
