The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Catering Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring excellent food service across multiple areas of the school. This is a varied and engaging role that offers the chance to work in different settings, from the Year 7 canteen to the Sixth Form café, and to build strong connections with students and staff alike. The role supports the Catering Manager and is ideal for someone with leadership potential and a passion for food and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Catering Manager with daily operations and team coordination
- Ensure smooth and efficient service across multiple catering areas
- Deliver excellent hands-on service with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Work collaboratively with the team to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Assist with the management and training of catering staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment in line with food safety standards
- Contribute to the development of menus and service strategies
- Engage with students and staff to build positive relationships and support the school’s community spirit
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in catering or food service
- Strong communication and team-working skills
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Commitment to providing excellent service and maintaining high standards
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
- Leadership potential or experience in a supervisory role
- Experience with menu planning or food service management
- Knowledge of catering software or management systems
- Flexibility to work across different catering areas and settings
