The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Estates Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that all schools remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of modern, high-quality educational facilities that support the learning and growth of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery, development, and maintenance of modern educational facilities across multiple schools.
  • Coordinate day-to-day estates operations and contribute to capital projects and refurbishment programmes.
  • Provide strategic and professional support to the Capital & Estates Manager in project delivery, compliance, and health and safety.
  • Work collaboratively with site staff, contractors, and senior leaders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure all schools meet regulatory standards and remain fit for the future.
  • Assist in long-term estate planning and contribute to the overall vision for school environments.
  • Monitor and maintain the condition of school buildings and facilities.
  • Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives and improvements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in estates or facilities management within an educational setting.
  • Ability to organise, lead, and motivate teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in project management and delivery of capital works or refurbishment programmes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a Multi-Academy Trust or similar educational structure.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance and infrastructure management.
  • Experience with estate planning and strategic development.
  • Understanding of educational standards and the needs of school environments.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and environmental best practices.
