The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Estates Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that all schools remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of modern, high-quality educational facilities that support the learning and growth of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery, development, and maintenance of modern educational facilities across multiple schools.
- Coordinate day-to-day estates operations and contribute to capital projects and refurbishment programmes.
- Provide strategic and professional support to the Capital & Estates Manager in project delivery, compliance, and health and safety.
- Work collaboratively with site staff, contractors, and senior leaders to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure all schools meet regulatory standards and remain fit for the future.
- Assist in long-term estate planning and contribute to the overall vision for school environments.
- Monitor and maintain the condition of school buildings and facilities.
- Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives and improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in estates or facilities management within an educational setting.
- Ability to organise, lead, and motivate teams effectively.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in project management and delivery of capital works or refurbishment programmes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience working within a Multi-Academy Trust or similar educational structure.
- Knowledge of building maintenance and infrastructure management.
- Experience with estate planning and strategic development.
- Understanding of educational standards and the needs of school environments.
- Familiarity with sustainability and environmental best practices.
