The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Facilities Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing high-quality learning environments across the trust. This position offers the chance to make a real impact on student experiences and contribute to the future of a dynamic educational institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the maintenance, safety, and development of school facilities.
  • Work closely with Academy Principals and the Trust Leader of Premises and Estates to ensure all facilities meet the highest standards.
  • Coordinate and support redevelopment projects across the trust, including new builds and infrastructure improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a secure environment for students and staff.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s vision for inspiring learning spaces.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and service providers to deliver efficient and effective facility management.
  • Monitor and manage budgets related to facilities and estates.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the long-term sustainability and improvement of school buildings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in facilities management within an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance procedures.
  • Experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a Multi-Academy Trust or similar educational structure.
  • Background in managing large-scale redevelopment or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with construction and building management processes.
  • Experience in supporting the delivery of educational outcomes through facility management.
