The Opportunity:

As Assistant Head Co-Curricular, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the school’s co-curricular programme. This is a unique opportunity to shape the extracurricular experiences of students, ensuring they benefit from a wide range of activities that promote personal growth, leadership, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a dynamic co-curricular programme that supports student engagement and personal development.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, staff, and external partners to enhance the co-curricular offering.
  • Oversee the management and coordination of co-curricular activities, including clubs, sports, and arts.
  • Ensure the programme aligns with the school’s mission, values, and educational goals.
  • Support the Senior Master in providing leadership and direction for all co-curricular initiatives.
  • Promote inclusivity and participation across the school community.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of co-curricular activities on student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other senior staff to integrate co-curricular development with academic and pastoral care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, preferably in a co-curricular or pastoral capacity.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • A deep understanding of student development and the importance of co-curricular activities in education.
  • Experience in managing and developing a wide range of extracurricular programmes.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a co-educational school.
  • Familiarity with Catholic education and values.
  • Experience in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Knowledge of the UK education system and curriculum requirements.
  • Experience in leading or managing sports, arts, or academic clubs.
