The Opportunity:

As Assistant Head of Primary Key Stage 1, you will lead the development of a rich, rigorous curriculum and champion excellent teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, review, and refine the written, taught, and assessed curriculum across Key Stage 1.
  • Promote and model outstanding pedagogy to ensure consistency in teaching and learning.
  • Use assessment data to monitor progress and improve student outcomes.
  • Mentor and support teachers, embedding a culture of professional excellence.
  • Support transitions between EYFS and Key Stage 1, and onward into Key Stage 2.
  • Manage operational elements such as timetabling, attendance, and Key Stage 1 events.
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement planning and KHDA compliance.
  • Champion positive behaviour for learning and uphold the school’s values.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers through transparent communication.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent; minimum of two years of educational leadership experience in a British curriculum school.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the National Curriculum for England and early primary pedagogy.
  • Proven success in raising achievement and leading curriculum innovation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire trust and collaboration.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching and mentoring teachers.
  • Background in project-based and experiential learning.
  • Commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and global citizenship.
