The Opportunity:
As Assistant Head of Primary Key Stage 1, you will lead the development of a rich, rigorous curriculum and champion excellent teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, review, and refine the written, taught, and assessed curriculum across Key Stage 1.
- Promote and model outstanding pedagogy to ensure consistency in teaching and learning.
- Use assessment data to monitor progress and improve student outcomes.
- Mentor and support teachers, embedding a culture of professional excellence.
- Support transitions between EYFS and Key Stage 1, and onward into Key Stage 2.
- Manage operational elements such as timetabling, attendance, and Key Stage 1 events.
- Contribute to whole-school improvement planning and KHDA compliance.
- Champion positive behaviour for learning and uphold the school’s values.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers through transparent communication.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent; minimum of two years of educational leadership experience in a British curriculum school.
- Demonstrated expertise in the National Curriculum for England and early primary pedagogy.
- Proven success in raising achievement and leading curriculum innovation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire trust and collaboration.
Preferred
- Experience in coaching and mentoring teachers.
- Background in project-based and experiential learning.
- Commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and global citizenship.
