The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher: Behaviour & Attitudes, you will play a vital role in shaping the school's culture and ensuring a positive learning environment for all students. You will lead initiatives that promote punctuality, respect, and resilience, while fostering a school free from bullying and discrimination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective behaviour and attitudes strategies across the school.
  • Ensure consistent application of systems and routines to support student conduct and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of behaviour management strategies on student outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and support to teaching and non-teaching staff in promoting positive attitudes.
  • Liaise with parents and external agencies to address behaviour-related concerns.
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures related to student behaviour.
  • Promote the school's values and ethos through consistent and visible leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a middle leadership role within a secondary school.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement successful school-wide or departmental strategies.
  • Strong experience in staff management and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and the promotion of positive attitudes and behaviour.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a school setting.
  • Background in behaviour management and student support strategies.
  • Experience of working within a multi-academy trust.
  • Knowledge of science education or related specialisms.
  • Experience in leading and developing professional learning communities.
