The Opportunity:

The Assistant Headteacher (Curriculum) will lead and support the school’s academic mission, with a focus on curriculum development and student success. This role is ideal for an experienced middle leader looking to make a significant impact on student outcomes and curriculum innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the super-curricular provision (curriculum X) for high-achieving students.
  • Oversee the UCAS application process and provide careers guidance to students.
  • Manage and support the Mathematics and Computer Science departments, including line management of staff.
  • Coordinate project work and academic progression meetings for students.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning, maintaining outstanding student outcomes.
  • Lead on mentoring, performance support, and training for teaching staff.
  • Contribute to school events such as open days and outreach activities.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the school’s mission and principles across all areas of the curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a middle leadership role within education.
  • Strong track record in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Experience in managing and leading teaching staff.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in education.

Preferred

  • Experience with STEM-related curriculum development.
  • Background in leading UCAS application processes.

  • Familiarity with sixth form education and the needs of high-achieving students.
