The Opportunity:

As Assistant Headteacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of Key Stage 1 and Early Years students. This is a leadership position that demands strategic thinking, a passion for early childhood education, and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and innovative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for Key Stage 1 and Early Years.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of a curriculum that supports the developmental needs of early learners.
  • Lead professional development initiatives to enhance teaching practices and pedagogical innovation.
  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality instruction and using assessment data to personalize learning.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice among staff.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students, working closely with the SENCO.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
  • Assist in the management of school operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership experience in Key Stage 1 and/or Early Years settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and drive educational excellence.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on collaborative leadership.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional leadership.
  • Background in school management or operational leadership.
  • Experience with international education standards and practices.
  • Fluency in multiple languages or cross-cultural experience.
