A school is set to open in 2026 and is dedicated to supporting young people aged 9 to 16 with Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a new special school, it offers a unique opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking institution.
The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Headteacher with Teaching Responsibilities, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a school. This is a leadership position that combines strategic direction with direct involvement in teaching, offering the chance to influence student outcomes and support staff development in a brand-new setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the teaching and learning strategy across the school
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and management of the school
- Work closely with the Headteacher to develop and implement school policies
- Provide professional guidance and support to teaching and support staff
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture
- Ensure the school meets all regulatory and statutory requirements
- Represent the school at local and regional education events
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in special education
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting
- Strong understanding of educational policies and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
Preferred
- Experience in leading or supporting a new school or educational initiative
- Knowledge of Autism and SEMH support strategies
- Experience in curriculum development and implementation
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £45,000 to £53,000
