The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher, you will lead the strategic development of SEND provision, ensuring that children with additional needs thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment. This is a chance to shape long-term outcomes for students and make a meaningful impact on their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the strategic SEND provision across the school
  • Oversee EHCP applications, reviews, safeguarding, and medical provision
  • Line-manage SEND staff and support their professional development
  • Collaborate with external agencies to ensure high-quality support for students
  • Influence long-term outcomes for children with EHCPs
  • Ensure statutory responsibilities are met with care and expertise
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and support within the school community
  • Work closely with parents, professionals, and LSAs to meet student needs

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • NASENCO-qualified teacher with strong SEND experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team
  • Experience in developing and delivering inclusive education strategies
  • Strong understanding of statutory responsibilities related to SEND
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred

  • Experience with EHCP applications and reviews
  • Background in safeguarding and medical provision
  • Experience in professional development and staff training
  • Knowledge of working with external agencies and support services
  • Passion for child-centred, evidence-informed practice
