The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher Key Stage 5, you will play a pivotal role in leading the 6th Form and Careers Teams, ensuring academic excellence and pastoral care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the 6th Form and Careers Teams, ensuring high standards of teaching and student support.
  • Oversee the academic and pastoral development of students in Key Stage 5, focusing on progress and achievement.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Implement and monitor school-wide strategies for student progression and career guidance.
  • Support the professional development of staff within the 6th Form and Careers Teams.
  • Ensure a positive and inclusive school culture that reflects the school’s values: Co-operation, Ambition, Respect, and Empathy.
  • Work closely with parents, the wider community, and external partners to enhance student opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven track record of success in teaching at A Level or other Level 3 qualifications.
  • Demonstrable experience in middle leadership or senior leadership roles within education.
  • Strong understanding of current educational developments and data related to Key Stage 5.
  • High expectations of students and a commitment to academic excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire others.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team within a large school setting.
  • Familiarity with BTECs and the new AAQs qualifications.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
  • Knowledge of careers guidance and progression opportunities for students.
