As an Assistant Headteacher - Personal Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the personal development curriculum, driving improvement in student outcomes, and fostering a positive school culture. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced leader to make a meaningful impact on student achievement and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a powerful and coherent personal development curriculum that supports student achievement and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents to implement effective strategies for improving student behavior and engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of personal development initiatives on student outcomes and school culture.
  • Support the leadership team in driving school improvement and innovation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff to enhance personal development practices across the school.
  • Ensure that all personal development activities align with the school’s vision and values.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and resilience among students and staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide policies and procedures related to student welfare and behavior.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading personal development initiatives in an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
  • A clear understanding of how personal development can positively influence student outcomes and behavior.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and the ability to implement best practice in this area.
  • Experience in school improvement and the ability to drive change and innovation.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a secondary school setting.
  • Familiarity with working in a school with strong military links and service children.
  • Experience in delivering professional development and leadership training.
  • A track record of successful curriculum development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
