The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher - Personal Development, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of students. This is a leadership position within the Senior Leadership team, focused on driving personal development initiatives that align with the school's vision of excellence and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop personal development programs that support student well-being and growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure alignment with the school’s vision, values, and curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of personal development initiatives and report outcomes.
  • Support staff professional development and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with pastoral teams to ensure a holistic approach to student care.
  • Implement strategies to promote inclusion, mental health, and character education.
  • Represent the school at external events and contribute to the wider educational community.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and welfare policies in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership or management role within education.
  • Strong understanding of personal development, pastoral care, and student well-being.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s vision and values, including ambition, opportunity, and community.
  • Fluency in spoken English (essential requirement).

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections or working in a school with a strong Ofsted rating.
  • Background in promoting inclusion and diversity in education.
  • Experience in managing and leading personal development initiatives.
