The Opportunity:

As Assistant Headteacher – Pupil Premium and Science Lead, you will play a key role in driving educational excellence and student support. This position is ideal for someone passionate about improving outcomes and leading a dedicated team towards shared goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Pupil Premium strategy to ensure all students have access to high-quality support and resources.
  • Oversee the Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to implement school-wide initiatives and improve student outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions, providing regular reports and recommendations.
  • Support staff development and professional growth, particularly in science and pupil premium areas.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders to enhance opportunities for students.
  • Ensure that safeguarding and pastoral care are embedded in all aspects of the school’s provision.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of Pupil Premium and strategies to support disadvantaged students.
  • Experience in leading and developing a subject department, particularly in Science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • A commitment to the values of respect, responsibility, and kindness.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a Multi-Academy Trust or similar collaborative environment.
  • A track record of improving student outcomes through targeted interventions.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation in Science education.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and pastoral care best practices.
  • Experience in driving school improvement and accountability frameworks.
