The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Housemaster, you will play a key role in supporting the development and well-being of students within a vibrant boarding community. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about student welfare, with a strong focus on administrative and organisational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Housemaster in managing the day-to-day operations of the boarding house.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, ensuring their well-being and academic progress.
  • Coordinate and support a wide range of co-curricular and boarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student information and house activities.
  • Assist in the organisation of events, including weekends and school trips.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive house culture.
  • Support the implementation of school policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or residential role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative, and IT skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to student welfare and development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding school environment.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work outside standard hours when required.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse needs.
