The Opportunity:

As the Assistant Principal – Behaviour, you will play a key role in shaping the school’s strategic direction and driving improvements in behaviour and safeguarding. This is a highly visible leadership position, ideal for an experienced leader or ambitious middle leader ready to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive strategic improvements across behaviour and safeguarding.
  • Develop and implement actionable plans to secure impact.
  • Model and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and conduct.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance using data from safeguarding and pastoral systems.
  • Ensure accountability for maintaining culture, systems, routines, and standards.
  • Tackle underperformance and drive continual improvement.
  • Implement a Warm/Strict approach to behaviour management.
  • Build strong relationships with staff, students, and families.
  • Contribute strategically to whole-school improvement as part of the senior leadership team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven track record in behaviour management and pastoral systems.
  • Experience in a leadership role within education.
  • Strong data analysis and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience with implementing behaviour management systems.
  • Background in evidence-based teaching methodologies.
  • Experience in curriculum development and teacher support.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
