The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Principal in the Commerce Faculty, you will provide strategic leadership to a dynamic department covering Maths, Business, ICT, and DT. This role is ideal for an ambitious and innovative professional looking to make a real impact on student outcomes and school improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Commerce Faculty to ensure high standards of teaching and learning
  • Support and mentor teachers to enhance pedagogical practice and student achievement
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to implement school-wide strategies and initiatives
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of a cohesive curriculum across the department
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional development
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive school improvement and raise standards
  • Ensure a supportive and inclusive environment for all students and staff

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of improving student outcomes
  • In-depth knowledge of the Commerce Faculty and related subjects
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department within a multi-academy trust
  • Familiarity with NPQs and professional development pathways
  • Experience in driving school improvement and raising standards
  • Strong understanding of social mobility and inclusive education
