The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Principal in the Commerce Faculty, you will provide strategic leadership to a dynamic department covering Maths, Business, ICT, and DT. This role is ideal for an ambitious and innovative professional looking to make a real impact on student outcomes and school improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Commerce Faculty to ensure high standards of teaching and learning
- Support and mentor teachers to enhance pedagogical practice and student achievement
- Collaborate with senior leaders to implement school-wide strategies and initiatives
- Oversee the planning and delivery of a cohesive curriculum across the department
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement
- Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional development
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive school improvement and raise standards
- Ensure a supportive and inclusive environment for all students and staff
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education
- Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of improving student outcomes
- In-depth knowledge of the Commerce Faculty and related subjects
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department within a multi-academy trust
- Familiarity with NPQs and professional development pathways
- Experience in driving school improvement and raising standards
- Strong understanding of social mobility and inclusive education
