The Opportunity:
As Assistant Principal for Personal Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the school’s character, culture, and student ambition. This is a leadership role that drives the personal development agenda and ensures that every student is equipped with the skills and confidence needed for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the personal development curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school’s vision and values.
- Manage and support a team of staff, providing leadership and guidance to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to implement strategies that enhance student well-being and personal growth.
- Oversee the pastoral care system, ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed academically and personally.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of personal development initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development among staff, ensuring they are equipped to deliver exceptional outcomes for students.
- Work closely with external partners and stakeholders to enhance the school’s personal development offer.
- Ensure that all systems and processes related to personal development are efficient, effective, and aligned with best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Proven success as a senior or middle leader with a significant impact in their current role
- Experience of line managing multiple staff
- Strong understanding of curriculum design and implementation
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience with coaching and professional development frameworks
- Familiarity with Steplab or similar coaching platforms
- Experience in pastoral care and student support
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive improvement
