The Opportunity:

As Assistant Principal - Pupil Progress, you will play a key role in driving the school’s vision for student success. You will lead the development and implementation of Personalised Learning Plans and support students in preparing for adulthood. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure every pupil has a comprehensive Personalised Learning Plan
  • Lead and manage Personal Development, including PSHA and Preparing for Adulthood
  • Support the co-production and use of Pupil Support Plans
  • Act as the academy’s Exams Officer
  • Serve as the named internal verifier for external accreditations
  • Lead on Pupil Premium initiatives
  • Work closely with the principal and senior leadership team
  • Promote and implement strategies to improve outcomes for students with complex needs

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an SEN or specialist provision setting
  • Strong experience in SEN within a mainstream or specialist school
  • Demonstrated ability to improve outcomes for children with diverse and complex needs
  • Experience in developing and managing Personalised Learning Plans
  • Knowledge of PSHA and Preparing for Adulthood frameworks
  • Experience in exam administration and internal verification processes

Preferred

  • Experience in Pupil Premium strategy development and implementation
  • Background in occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, or additional literacy support
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
