The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Assistant Principal - Science to join our leadership team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the science department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategies for whole-school improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Mentor and coach teachers to enhance pedagogy and professional development.
  • Manage departmental resources and ensure effective use of centralised planning tools.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture aligned with the institution's values.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s curriculum and behaviour policies.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to maintain high standards of teaching and learning across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a highly effective teacher of Science.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Commitment to educational excellence and student achievement.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues.
  • Ability to develop and implement school-wide improvement strategies.
  • Familiarity with effective teaching methods and curriculum design.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of Rosenshine principles and Teach Like a Champion methodologies.
  • Experience with data-driven decision making and student progress tracking.
  • Background in inclusive education and supporting diverse student needs.
  • Experience with centralised systems for planning, behaviour, and homework management.
