Assistant Teacher role available at a leading pre-prep school in Wimbledon.

Founded in 1936, the school offers a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 3 to 7. It is located in a large private house with extensive outdoor facilities and a strong commitment to early years education.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our dedicated team and support the development of young learners. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive and professional environment, while making a positive impact on the lives of children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the lead teacher in delivering high-quality early years education.
- Assist with planning and preparing engaging lesson plans and activities.
- Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and support children’s progress and development.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to teaching.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on children’s progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure the smooth running of daily routines, including playtimes and meals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with young children, ideally in an early years setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
Preferred
- Experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital resources.
- First aid and emergency paediatric first aid qualifications.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of approximately £20,500 for the academic year.
