The Opportunity:
As an Athletic Director, you will play a key role in shaping the school’s athletic programs and ensuring they align with its mission and values. This position offers the opportunity to lead, innovate, and inspire both students and staff through dynamic athletic and extracurricular initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the school’s athletics program and budget.
- Develop and implement long-term strategies to enhance the athletics department.
- Coordinate with coaches, staff, and external partners to organize events, practices, and competitions.
- Promote and raise the profile of the school’s athletic programs within the community.
- Ensure the safety, cleanliness, and proper maintenance of athletic facilities and equipment.
- Collaborate with the ECA Program Manager to plan and deliver after-school activities.
- Monitor and assess the performance of coaching staff and student athletes.
- Coordinate logistics for athletic travel, including transportation, accommodation, and event planning.
- Organize and host athletic tournaments, awards banquets, and other key events.
- Utilize data to evaluate program effectiveness and improve student participation and performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor's or master's degree in sports management, physical education, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Athletic Director.
- Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) by Alberta Education.
- Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- General knowledge of sports rules and regulations.
Preferred
- First Aid program instructor qualification.
- Experience in fundraising and promotional events.
- Willingness to travel with sports teams and work extended hours during events and tournaments.
