The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting students and improving attendance rates. This is a chance to make a real impact on the lives of young people in a supportive and growing school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor student attendance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance and engagement among students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents to support students who are at risk of poor attendance.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on attendance patterns and interventions.
  • Liaise with external agencies and support services to ensure students receive the necessary help.
  • Use MS Office software and school databases to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Ensure all attendance-related procedures are followed in line with school policies and legal requirements.
  • Support the school’s mission by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree or significant demonstrable experience in improving attendance in a school setting.
  • Experience of working in an administrative setting.
  • Understanding of the societal challenges affecting young people and their impact on attendance.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and school databases.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred

  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
  • Experience in a school or education setting with a leadership focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and provide excellent customer service.
