The Opportunity: As an Attendance Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing attendance strategies to ensure student success. You will work closely with staff and families to support student engagement and achievement in a vibrant, supportive educational community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage attendance strategies and supporting procedures throughout the school
  • Implement first day absence management systems and processes
  • Use data to provide regular and ad hoc detailed reports for attendance monitoring
  • Establish reasons for non-attendance, make assessments, and agree plans for a return to school
  • Conduct formal meetings with parents/carers to address attendance and punctuality issues
  • Carry out home visits (or other relevant locations) to identify factors impacting pupil attendance and punctuality

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent
  • Experience of leading attendance management in a school environment
  • Experience of dealing with sensitive and confidential student information
  • Knowledge of attendance improvement strategies

Preferred

  • Experience working within a values-driven, inclusive educational setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external stakeholders
